Partner programs let you offer a partner's product to the businesses you already underwrite, and earn a commission when it converts. [Ramp](https://ramp.com) is the first. Ramp relies on Pathway to pre-screen applicants for the [Ramp corporate card](https://ramp.com/corporate-cards) and to hand them an application prefilled from the deal. An org admin turns it on under **Connectors → Integrations**, and it then appears under **Connectors** in the sidebar. Turning it off makes every shared link stop working.

**Why do it.** When a merchant you referred is approved and starts using the card, Ramp pays a referral commission and Pathway pays your firm its share. The work is one click: when a business fits Ramp's criteria, Pathway generates the offer with the application prefilled. You send it to the merchant or back to the ISO who brought you the deal. The merchant opens the link, gives their consent, and finishes with Ramp. Pathway shows you where every application stands.

The card is a charge card. It is paid in full each month, has no personal guarantee, and has no daily payment. It is a spend product, not financing.

## The card

Ramp's pages on the product:

* [Corporate cards](https://ramp.com/corporate-cards): cashback, no annual fee, no personal guarantee, physical and virtual cards for a team.
* [Products](https://ramp.com/products): bill pay, expense management, and spend controls.
* [Pricing](https://support.ramp.com/ramp-pricing-overview/): plan tiers and what is free.
* [Legal](https://ramp.com/legal): customer terms, the card addendum, and the privacy policy. Every referral page links to these.

## Who qualifies

These are Ramp's general pre-qualifying criteria, not guarantees. Ramp reviews every application itself. Most of what Ramp looks at is already in a [Pathway Book](/platform/books/books):

| Ramp looks for | Where it is in the Book |

Businesses that sweep to a zero balance can be evaluated on financials instead: current and prior year quarterly P\&Ls and the last two quarters' balance sheets.\*

<Note>
  Thresholds and the restricted list are set by Ramp and change over time. Use the table to decide who is worth offering the card to, not to predict the outcome.

## How it works

### Creating a referral manually

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Ramp page">
    **Connectors → Ramp** in the sidebar lists every referral your organization has made, with its current status. This is where you create and track them.

    <Frame caption="The Ramp page">
      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/pathwaysystemsllc/GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg/images/ramp/ramp-01-referrals-dark.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg&q=85&s=1216688267574af715fe8b6e39d8efd8" alt="The Ramp page in Pathway with referral cards" className="hidden dark:block" width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/ramp/ramp-01-referrals-dark.png" />

      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/pathwaysystemsllc/GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg/images/ramp/ramp-01-referrals-light.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg&q=85&s=817dad4f9d8810edcf7fc853f7810963" alt="The Ramp page in Pathway with referral cards" className="dark:hidden" width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/ramp/ramp-01-referrals-light.png" />
    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the referral">
    Click **New referral**. First name, last name, and email are required. Under **Add application details** you can add the legal business name, EIN and entity type, address, the controlling officer and other owners, and a bank account with its balance. Everything you enter is prefilled when the merchant opens Ramp's application. Creating the referral doesn't send anything yet.

    <Frame caption="New referral">
      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/pathwaysystemsllc/GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg/images/ramp/ramp-02-new-referral-dark.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg&q=85&s=f84f775480b2e3cbdcfd90a39771514a" alt="The new referral dialog with applicant and prefill fields" className="hidden dark:block" width="1344" height="1290" data-path="images/ramp/ramp-02-new-referral-dark.png" />

      <img src="https://mintcdn.com/pathwaysystemsllc/GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg/images/ramp/ramp-02-new-referral-light.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg&q=85&s=017f0fa2bf4496e200731ddd1cff23c0" alt="The new referral dialog with applicant and prefill fields" className="dark:hidden" width="1344" height="1290" data-path="images/ramp/ramp-02-new-referral-light.png" />
    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share the link">
    Each referral has its own link, and it opens without a Pathway login. Text it to the merchant, email it, or forward it to the broker who brought you the deal. The page shows the business name, who referred them, what they're applying for, and a masked version of the email Ramp will write to. It shows nothing from the Book, and it can't change the email: set that on the referral before you share the link.

    <Frame caption="Copy the link from the referral">

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Or send it for them">
    If you're already in touch with the merchant and they want to go ahead, you can start the application for them. Open the referral, expand **Applying on their behalf?**, confirm the email, check the consent box, and click **Send to Ramp**. This is the same as the merchant clicking **Apply** on the page.

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ramp takes over">
    Ramp emails the merchant an invitation. They set a password, accept a short consent screen, and land in Ramp's application with the details already filled in. Ramp verifies their phone, asks for anything missing, and reviews the application. From here on, all communication with the merchant comes from Ramp. Pathway never emails them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Follow it in Pathway">
    Once the merchant accepts Ramp's consent screen, the referral shows Ramp's status and updates on its own. **Check status** refreshes it immediately.

### Referrals from your deal flow

Referrals can also start from Books. Pathway pre-screens the businesses in your deal flow against Ramp's criteria and builds the application from the loan application and bank statement analytics. A referral created this way lands on the same Ramp page and works the same way from there.

## The merchant's page

The link opens the only page a merchant ever sees from Pathway. It is branded LendPathway and Ramp, names the referring firm, describes the card in Ramp's own terms with links to Ramp's site, shows where Ramp's invitation will go, and asks for one thing: permission to share the business's details with Ramp.

<Frame caption="The merchant's referral page">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/pathwaysystemsllc/GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg/images/ramp/ramp-04-merchant-page.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=GD_S-gw5b8l72GRg&q=85&s=f507a0ebd2eeacfc02aa161c125c0dae" alt="The public referral page a merchant opens from the shared link" width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/ramp/ramp-04-merchant-page.png" />
</Frame>

A link starts the application once. After **Apply**, the page tells them to watch for Ramp's email and, if it doesn't arrive, to ask you to resend it. Everything after that is with Ramp: the application, the decision, and the card. Questions about the card go to Ramp support.

## Statuses

| Status                      | Meaning                                                                                                                                                                             |
| --------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Ready to share** | The link exists. Nothing has been sent, and you can still change the email or delete the referral. |
| **Invite sent** | Pathway sent the application to Ramp and Ramp emailed the merchant. The email is now locked, and the shared link no longer does anything. A different address needs a new referral. |
| **Signed up** | The merchant accepted Ramp's invitation and consent screen. Pathway can now see the application. |
| **In review** | The merchant submitted the application and Ramp is reviewing it. |
| **Needs info** | Ramp needs more from the merchant and has contacted them directly. |
| **Approved** | Ramp approved the business. Commission starts once they begin spending. |
| **Rejected**, **Withdrawn** | Ramp declined, or the merchant abandoned the application. |

Ramp's review takes days, not minutes. A referral that stays at **Invite sent** usually means the merchant hasn't opened Ramp's email. **Resend the Ramp invite** on the referral sends it again.

## Brokers and lenders

Brokers and ISOs own the merchant relationship. Pitch the card on the same call as the advance, create the referral, and either text the merchant the link or send the application on their behalf.

Lenders usually received the merchant through an ISO, and the relationship stays with that ISO. Create the referral, put the ISO in **Credited firm**, and forward them the link to pitch. Nothing reaches a merchant in your pipeline unless someone at your firm creates the referral and shares it.

## Consent and data

A merchant's information goes to Ramp only when someone clicks **Apply** or **Send to Ramp** with the consent box checked, and only to the email on the referral, which the shared link cannot change. Every send records who did it, from where, and when. What is sent is exactly the applicant and prefill fields on the referral, which you can review beforehand. Nothing else from the Book leaves Pathway.

From that point, [Ramp's privacy policy](https://ramp.com/legal) applies. Pathway keeps a read-only view of the application's status and nothing else from the merchant's Ramp account.

## Commissions

Ramp pays LendPathway a referral commission for each referred business that is approved and begins using the card. LendPathway shares it with the firm credited on the referral. A referral becomes eligible once the merchant has spent and paid down at least \$1,000 on the card, or paid at least three bills through Ramp.\* Commissions are paid out by ACH in the third week of the following month.\* From a merchant's consent to cash in hand is typically one to three months.

Commission amounts and your firm's share are set in your program agreement. Confirm them with your Pathway contact before quoting anything to a merchant.

Payouts are matched to Ramp's partner reporting by the merchant's email address, which is why the email on a sent referral can't be changed.

\* Figures as shared by Ramp at the time of writing and subject to change. Ramp's [customer terms and card addendum](https://ramp.com/legal) govern eligibility and the product. Your program agreement governs commissions.
